Raise your hand for an open event, position or game

Tell a manager you want to work an event, a specific open position or a single game, straight from your dashboard, and see what happens when they answer.

Raising your hand tells a manager you'd like to work an event. You do it from your dashboard, with one click, and the manager gets an email straight away. If they approve, you're on the event and confirmed. There's nothing else to accept.

You need a CrewdUp account for this. If you don't have one, see join a team.

    Short version

Sign in, find the event on your dashboard and click Express Interest, or the button for the position you want. The manager is emailed. If they approve, you get an "Approved for" email and you're confirmed.

    Before you start

You can only raise your hand for events on your dashboard. Those are upcoming events from managers you're linked to, with Visible to Crew ticked. If an event you expected isn't there, see why you might not see an event.

    Crew: raise your hand

    1. Sign in and go to your Dashboard.
    2. Find the event under Available Events.
    3. Click a button on its card:
      • If the event has open positions, there's one button for each, named after the position, for example "Camera Operator". Click the one you want. It changes to "{position}: Pending".
      • Otherwise, click Express Interest. It changes to Interest Pending.

You'll see "Interest Expressed" and "The manager will be notified."

The buttons disappear once you're assigned to the event.

    Talent: raise your hand

    • Single-day events: click Express Interest. It changes to Interest Pending.
    • Multi-day events: click View Games to see the event's games, then click Express Interest on each game you want. If you see "No games scheduled yet", check back later.

Your requests show under My Game Interests on your dashboard.

    What happens next

The manager gets an email saying you want to work the event, and your request appears on their dashboard to review.

    If they approve (crew):

    • You're assigned and confirmed straight away. There's no Yes or No step.
    • You get "Approved for {position} - {event}".
    • This email has no calendar file. Add the event to your calendar yourself.

If they approve (talent): you're assigned and confirmed, and you get "Assignment Confirmed" and "Approved for" emails. Neither has a calendar file.

If they decline (crew): you get "Interest Update: {event}". The button on the card changes to Express Interest Again, so you can ask again later.

If they decline (talent): you get "Update on your interest in {event}" (or the game).

    Things to know

    • An error after clicking? Refresh the page before trying again. Your interest may already have been saved.
    • The button in decline emails doesn't work yet. View Available Events (or View More Opportunities for talent) in a decline email goes to a page that doesn't exist. Sign in at crewdup.com/auth and use your dashboard instead.
    • Raising your hand isn't a booking. Nothing is confirmed until the manager approves.
